The Story
Apsahara began dancing in her teenage years. Immersed in traditional Moroccan dances such as chaâbi, from an early age she learned to move to the rhythm of percussion. Her first formal dance studies were in dancehall.

Dance has always been her means of expression, a way to reclaim her body, her space, and her femininity. It was also a source of solace through a troubled younger life.

Eleven years ago, during a journey to Nepal, she attended her first fire performance and was mesmerised by the human ability to handle fire in a controlled and hypnotic way. It felt like witnessing a dream. With the help of a friend fire spinner, she began training, shyly, hidden out in the fields. That same year, she gave her first performance of so-called ‘belly dance’: a movement form she felt she naturally knew how to master.

She continued to train in
circus arts in a mostly self-taught way, by engaging with circus communities, but also - and above all - through her many travels. During one of these journeys, she met a music artist who became her partner, and together they created and toured a show blending live music, dance, and fire.

Seven years ago, she discovered Tribal Fusion and once again fell in love. For her, it was a dance close to oriental dance, while adding a mystical dimension, a deep feminine force and strong technicality.

She then began taking classes with a professional dancer friend in France, before engaging in more in-depth training and a performing tour during a trip to India. In India, she also studied Odissi, a classical Indian dance, with Ileana Citaristi, one of the greatest figures of Odissi dance. She acquired movements that she now fuses into her own dance.

She has been running dance classes for the past 2 years, loving to ignite the spark of this passion in others and share the gifts.

She is a full-time dancer, member of multiple dance companies and projects. She performs regularly on the main stages of some of France and the UK’s most recognised alternative festivals and events, sent into trance by electronic music, as well as in more intimate spaces, around fires, transported by the rhythm of hands on the skins of drums and beauty of stringed instruments.

With the hope of being able, even after death, free of the body, to dive into the eternal cosmic dance.
Tribal Fusion Dance Classes
Through my classes, you will learn the foundations of Tribal technique, exploring fundamental movements of the hips, torso, arms, and head.

We will also work on posture and the elegance that emanates from this dance.

Together, we will learn combos and integrate them into short choreographies that you will be able to integrate into your own practices.

Each class always begins with a warm-up and ends with stretching, followed by a moment of caring reconnection, grounding, and relaxation.

As a teacher, I seek to transmit work on the body as well as on the mind. I hope that my students - and myself - leave each class with more confidence, more joy, and a greater inner peacefulness.
I offer a space of sisterhood, inclusive, non-judgmental, where each person can feel safe to dance. Be it with strength or with vulnerability.
